Seeking a freelance Head of Accounting & Tax for a 6-month full-time engagement in the Rhein Neckar region, offering a hybrid work model. The role involves supporting an international accounting and tax environment, financial reporting, and tax compliance.

Currently, I am looking for a freelance Head of Accounting & Tax for my client:
Responsibilities
Must-haves:
- Project-based support in coordinating an international accounting and tax environment with around seven employees
- Participation in the preparation and assurance of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to IFRS and local accounting standards
- Support in carrying out and reconciling IFRS group consolidation
- Project-based support of six financial audits for FY26 in cooperation with auditing firms
- Participation in tax compliance matters, especially corporate taxes, VAT, transfer pricing, and tax audits
- Support in coordinating with external tax advisors and auditors
- Participation in ensuring consistent accounting policies within an international corporate structure
- Project-based support for M&A transactions and post-merger integrations
- Assistance in the further development of accounting processes and internal control structures
- Several years of experience in a responsible accounting function, ideally in an international scale-up environment
- Profound IFRS expertise, especially in group financial statements and consolidation
- Experience with international multi-entity structures
- Demonstrable experience in the accounting and tax environment
- Experience with international financial audits
- Fluent English skills
