The focus is on logistical planning, project management, procurement, and operational execution of track construction sites, as well as the coordination of machinery, work trains, materials, and transports.
Position: Site Logistics / Railway Construction Logistics Specialist (m/f/d) – Project Management & Procurement
Responsibilities
Creation of logistical concepts and calculations during the bidding phase
Planning and preparation of track construction sites and determination of machinery and material requirements
Procurement and scheduling of locomotives, work trains, tamping machines, track construction cranes, and other heavy machinery
Coordination of rail transports, train journeys, routes, and material deliveries
Creation and coordination of logistical operational and deployment processes based on the construction schedule (e.g., SOG / BAP)
Coordination with scheduling, project management, and construction management
Coordination of machinery deployment, arrival and departure times, and logistical site processes
Support for construction management on railway operations issues
Operational support of site execution, including documentation and quality assurance
Requirements
Several years of experience in site logistics, railway construction logistics, logistical project management, or work preparation in the construction sector
Basic understanding of railways and knowledge of processes in railway infrastructure construction
Experience in scheduling machinery, materials, transports, or site resources
Ability to translate construction processes into concrete logistical deployment and operational processes
Experience in coordination with construction management, project management, and scheduling
Good knowledge of MS Excel and Word
Willingness to travel and to undertake regular site assignments
Nice to have
Experience in track construction, cable trenching, or civil engineering in the railway sector
Knowledge of the railway operating regulations of DB AG
Experience with work trains, road-rail excavators, tamping machines, track construction cranes, or other railway construction machinery
Knowledge of SOG and BAP
Experience with route ordering, train journeys, and rail transports
Qualification as a work train driver or experience working with work train drivers and engine drivers
