• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience as a test manager within complex ICT implementations and migrations.
• Demonstrable experience with testing IAM/IGA solutions, preferably in an environment with many source and target system integrations.
• Extensive experience with integration, chain, functional, and acceptance testing, and with risk-driven testing.
• Demonstrable hands-on testing experience: you can independently create test scenarios and test scripts, execute tests, analyze test data, and investigate findings.
• Technically proficient enough to understand data flows, API integrations, mappings, authorizations, and provisioning processes, and to test them independently.
• Experience in organizing tests involving multiple internal and external parties.
• Experience with test management tools, defect tracking, and test automation.
• HBO/WO work and thinking level and good command of the Dutch language.
• Experience with midPoint or similar IAM/IGA platforms.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, LDAP, SCIM, REST APIs, and relevant testing and analysis tools.
• Experience within higher education or a comparable complex organization.
• TMAP, ISTQB, or comparable certification.

Description

The ICT Shared Service Centre of Leiden University is looking for an IAM Test Manager for the project management department.

What will you do?

Leiden University is renewing its Identity & Access Management (IAM) facilities. The current NetIQ platform will be replaced by midPoint as the new Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) solution. The implementation will be managed internally, in collaboration with internal IAM specialists, application managers, and external parties. The transition will be phased. First, the source systems will be connected, and midPoint will be tested alongside NetIQ. Subsequently, the target systems and integrations will be migrated step-by-step, ensuring the continuity of IAM service delivery.

For this program, we are looking for an experienced, hands-on test manager who will be responsible for coordinating the preparation and execution of the entire test and acceptance process.

You will work at the ISSC department of Leiden University on the IAM environment renewal project.

Your activities (Focus, Principles & Objectives)

As Test Manager IAM, you will ensure a structured, risk-driven testing approach that guarantees the quality of the new IAM facility and the continuity of service delivery. You will organize and coordinate the various testing activities, but also actively participate in drafting test scenarios, executing tests, and analyzing findings. You will work closely with the project manager, Product Owner IAM, functional administrators, developers, architects, source and target system owners, and external service providers.

You are pragmatic and feel responsible for actually executing and completing the tests. When necessary, you roll up your sleeves yourself. You can translate technical findings into concrete risks and clear advice for project management and acceptors.

• Test Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute an integrated, risk-driven test plan, including test scenarios, acceptance criteria, test data, test environments, and required capacity.
• Test Preparation and Execution: Organize and, where necessary, perform integration, functional, chain, regression, and acceptance tests. Monitor the execution and results of unit/component tests.
• IAM Chain Testing: Test identity lifecycles (entry, transition, and exit), data processing, authorizations, account management, and provisioning from source to target systems, including exceptions and error scenarios.
• Shadow Testing and Migration: Organize and conduct checks comparing the functionality and data processing of midPoint with NetIQ. Prepare and guide testing and acceptance per migration batch.
• Test Data and Test Environments: Ensure that representative test data, environments, integrations, and other test conditions are available in a timely manner, with attention to security and privacy.
• Findings and Progress: Record, analyze, and follow up on test results, risks, and findings. Report on test coverage, quality, progress, and remaining risks.
• Acceptance and Go-Live: Prepare acceptance decisions, organize sign-off by the designated acceptors, and advise on readiness for production transition. Support production validation, rollback testing, and post-go-live support.
• Operational Acceptance: Verify that the renewed IAM service, including monitoring, management processes, recovery procedures, and collaboration with the external management party, is operationally ready.
