For a project near Düsseldorf, an experienced freelance accountant is sought for operative accounting tasks, focusing on financial statements and balance sheet account reconciliation within a multi-company structure.
Project overview
For a project at a medium-sized company in the Düsseldorf area, we are seeking an experienced freelance accountant (m/f/d) on short notice.
We are specifically looking for support in operative accounting with a focus on the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, as well as the reconciliation of complex balance sheet accounts within a multi-company structure.

Responsibilities
Profile Sought
- Independent preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB
- Processing and reconciliation of balance sheet and P&L accounts
- Execution of complex account reconciliations and resolution of existing discrepancies
- Intercompany reconciliations and clarification of intra-group postings
- Creation and booking of provisions and accruals/deferrals
- Responsible contribution to fixed asset accounting
- Support with VAT reconciliations
- Processing of booking and closing backlogs
- Preparation and provision of documents for auditors
- Support in optimizing existing closing processes
- Contribution to the conversion or further development to SAP S/4HANA
- Several years of operative experience as a certified accountant / Senior Accountant
- Very good knowledge of accounting according to HGB
- Proven experience in the independent preparation of annual financial statements
- Very good knowledge of the General Ledger
- Experience with Intercompany reconciliations
- Experience within a multi-company structure
- Good knowledge of fixed asset accounting, provisions, and accruals/deferrals
- Very good knowledge of SAP FI, ideally already SAP S/4HANA
- Confident use of Excel, especially Pivot and VLOOKUP
- Experience in clearing accounting backlogs is an advantage
