Seeking an experienced freelance piping site manager for a modernization project in gas plant construction in Northern Germany. The role involves technical supervision and coordination of piping construction activities.
Project overview
For a demanding project in gas plant construction in Northern Germany, we are looking for an experienced freelance piping site manager / pipe construction specialist (m/f/d).
As part of a modernization measure, you will take over the technical supervision and coordination of piping construction work, including prefabrication, assembly, testing, and acceptance.

- Several years of experience in pipe construction and in site/specialized site management
- Experience in gas or high-pressure gas plant construction
- Sound knowledge of GasHDrLtgV
- Experience with pipe books, isometrics, and welding technical documentation
- Experience with NDT as well as pressure and leak tests
- Knowledge or qualification in RT2
- Experience in coordinating assembly companies and testing authorities
- Very good German language skills
- Welding engineer (SFI), welding specialist (SFM), or comparable welding technical qualification
- Experience according to GW 301 / Group G1
- Experience according to DVGW G 497
- Experience on gas compressor or comparable high-pressure gas plants
- Knowledge in corrosion protection, e.g., FROSIO or comparable
Project details
Your Responsibilities
- Region: Northern Germany
- Start: Expected Q1 2027
- Duration: approx. 5 months
- Scope: approx. 80 working days
- Workload: initially approx. 2-3 days/week, then approx. 3-5 days/week
- Increased on-site presence required during a critical plant phase
- Contract type: freelance project support
- Site management and supervision of piping construction work
- Coordination of the executing pipe construction company
- Review of isometrics, pipe books, and material and welding documentation
- Supervision and evaluation of welding work and non-destructive testing (NDT)
- Coordination of pressure and leak tests
- Accompanying technical acceptances and expert inspections
- Ensuring compliance with quality requirements and technical regulations
- Accompanying prefabrication and assembly
- Performing construction supervision tasks according to GasHDrLtgV
