Job title - Senior Frontend Engineer
Remote work offering - 100%
Client Industry - HR Tech
Contract Length - 6 months, with a strong option to extend
Contract type - FreelanceProject focus
Building and evolving the web applications behind an HR tech platform, including employee-facing and internal admin portals used across multiple product teams. The team works spec-first and AI-native: clear specs drive delivery, and AI coding agents support writing, testing and reviewing code in a React 18 and TypeScript stack.Key skills and Experience required

- 5+ years of commercial frontend experience with strong React and TypeScript
- Daily use of AI coding agents (e.g. Claude Code), including prompting, reviewing and verifying AI-generated code and owning its quality
- Spec-driven delivery: writing or refining specs with behaviour, acceptance criteria and edge cases before coding, and linking tests and reviews back to them
- End-to-end ownership from solution design with product and design through to build, testing, release and production follow-up
- Testing across unit, component and e2e levels, plus accessibility and performance optimisation
- Working in a monorepo with shared component libraries and design systems
- Strong written English and a habit of documenting decisions (ADRs)
- Bonus: AWS (S3, CloudFront, ECS, IAM) and CI/CD, Java/Spring Boot with REST/OpenAPI contracts, i18n at scale and frontend observability
