SAP EC Payroll Consultant (ECP, Special Payments, Cutover) | Mannheim, 80% remote

Project overview

For the introduction of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) with German payroll, the finalization and Go-Live preparation are at hand. The assignment includes customizing, testing, integration into SAP FI/CO, and cutover, so that payroll can go live stably in production.

Configurations outside the mentioned areas, such as Time Management, Benefits, or other country variants, are not part of the assignment.

We are looking for a technically proficient SAP EC Payroll Consultant at Principal level who will implement special payments, postings to accounting, payment files, provisions, and cutover.

Responsibilities

• Special Payments Toolkit: Set up and finalize wage types for vacation and Christmas bonuses, including processing and evaluation classes
• Configure and validate payroll schema and Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs)
• Perform payroll simulations and gross-to-net checks per payroll area
• Result: Configuration documentation (wage types, classes, PCR and schema changes, transports) and unit test package with simulation results, comparison via wage type reporter, and explained deviations per payroll area
• Postings to Accounting: Configure the posting of payroll results to SAP FI/CO, including assignment of symbolic accounts, cost centers, profit centers, and internal orders
• Perform posting simulations and check the assignment of G/L accounts in the general ledger
• Clarify posting differences and incorrect account assignments with the FI/CO consultant before the live run
• Result: Posting documentation with simulation log, assignment of wage types to symbolic accounts, and approval by those responsible in the finance department
• Payment File (DTA): Configure and validate the payment medium program for creating the transfer file
• Ensure correct process sequence: payroll run, data medium exchange pre-program, posting of payments
• Test and document the entire payment and posting cycle, including substitute check scenarios, end-to-end
• Provisions (Target Date 03/31/2027): Configure and validate monthly provisions for vacation and Christmas bonuses
• Check G/L account balances and cost center allocation
• Result: Approval package with calculation logic, accepted by those responsible in the finance department before Go-Live
• Cutover: Accompany parallel runs between legacy system and ECP, document and resolve all discrepancies
• At least three consecutive parallel payroll periods before recommending go-live
• Check and ensure the maintenance of the payroll control record, and that the posting simulation is completed before closing
• Coordinate hypercare and stabilization of special payment processing after Go-Live
• Result: Complete and approved cutover checklist
