General Site Manager (GSM) / Electrical Specialist

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for site organization and coordination of all on-site activities
• Functioning as General Site Manager (GSM) according to project-specific requirements
• Ensuring compliance with all HSE, occupational safety, environmental, and quality requirements
• Responsibility for the safe execution of work, considering local regulations, customer requirements, and internal processes
• Management and coordination of subcontractors, external companies, and site teams
• Monitoring progress, quality, costs, and deadlines of site activities
• Identification of schedule risks and initiation of appropriate countermeasures
• Coordination of interfaces between construction, assembly, electrical installation, and commissioning
• Support in claim and change order management as well as documentation of deviations
• Creation and tracking of site reports, progress updates, and open points
• Point of contact for customers, grid operators, authorities, as well as internal and external project stakeholders
• Support with Permit-to-Work processes and with release and safety procedures
• Ensuring professional site and safety management throughout the entire project duration

Requirements

Desirable Qualifications

• Completed electrical engineering apprenticeship with further training as a master craftsman or technician, or a degree in electrical engineering
• Several years of professional experience on large construction sites in the fields of energy transmission, substations, HVDC, FACTS, or power plant projects
• Experience as a Site Manager, Construction Manager, or General Site Manager
• Sound knowledge of electrical installation and site execution
• Good knowledge in the areas of occupational safety, HSE, and site organization
• Experience in coordinating subcontractors and international teams
• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented way of working
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken
• Willingness to travel for predominantly long-term assignments on construction sites within Germany
• Experience with projects from transmission system operators, such as TransnetBW, Amprion, TenneT, or 50Hertz
• Knowledge of processes and procedures in complex EPC or infrastructure projects
• Experience in the fields of STATCOM, SVC, FACTS, HVDC, or substations
• HSE, SiGeKo, or comparable safety qualifications
• Knowledge in the Permit-to-Work environment
