For a company in the field of highly secure IT and communication solutions, we are looking for an experienced Hardware/Software Engineer with a focus on hardware-near firmware development in C/C++.
Background
As part of the project, an existing product based on specialized hardware modules is to be further developed and extended with additional functionalities. The focus is on adapting existing firmware components and developing new functions at the controller level, taking high security requirements into account.
Responsibilities
- Further development and adaptation of existing firmware components on specialized hardware
- Implementation of additional functionalities on existing hardware modules
- Hardware-near software development at the controller level
- Development and adaptation of firmware in C/C++
- Analysis and adaptation of manufacturer-specific controller functions, taking security requirements into account
- Independent implementation of technical development concepts
- Close collaboration with hardware, firmware, and FPGA developers
- Coordination with adjacent teams and interfaces to the overarching host software
- Consideration of security-critical requirements within the development processes
Requirements
- Several years of experience in hardware-near software and firmware development
- Very good knowledge of C/C++
- Sound experience in firmware development at the controller level
- Experience with hardware-near development and the interplay between hardware and software
- Experience in the security environment or in security-critical development projects
- Independent and practical development experience
- Very good German language skills
- Knowledge of FPGA programming
- Knowledge of the hardware description languages VHDL and/or Verilog
- Python knowledge
- Experience with specialized hardware modules and controller chips
