Hardware/Software Engineer Firmware Development (C/C++)

Project overview

For a company in the field of highly secure IT and communication solutions, we are looking for an experienced Hardware/Software Engineer with a focus on hardware-related firmware development.

As part of the project, an existing product based on specialized hardware modules will be further developed and expanded with additional functionalities. The focus is on adapting existing firmware components and developing new functions at the controller level, taking high security requirements into account.

Responsibilities

• Further development and adaptation of existing firmware components on specialized hardware
• Implementation of additional functionalities on existing hardware modules
• Hardware-related software development at the controller level in C/C++
• Analysis and adaptation of manufacturer-specific controller functions with regard to security aspects
• Independent implementation of technical development concepts
• Close collaboration with hardware, firmware, and FPGA developers
• Coordination with adjacent teams and interfaces to the overarching host software

Requirements

• Several years of experience in hardware-related software and firmware development
• Very good knowledge of C/C++
• Sound experience in firmware development at the controller level
• Experience in the security environment or security-critical development projects
• Practical experience with the interplay between hardware and software
• Knowledge of FPGA programming and hardware description languages (VHDL/Verilog) advantageous
• Python knowledge desirable
• Very good German language skills
