Project Background
An experienced freelance HGB accountant (m/f/d) is needed at short notice for a company in the insurance industry.
The focus of the project is on supporting the HGB annual financial statements, coordinating with the auditors, and assisting with selected consolidation and intercompany charge topics.
Task Profile

- Professional and operational support of the HGB annual financial statements
- Ensuring proper accounting according to HGB
- Preparation and processing of documents relevant to the financial statements
- Performing account reconciliations and clarifying accounting issues
- Coordination and communication with the auditors
- Support with smaller consolidation topics within the international corporate group
- If necessary, support with the allocation of IT and overhead costs
- Collaboration with the existing accounting team and direct reporting to the CFO
- Independent processing and follow-up of assigned financial statement topics
- Ensuring transparent documentation of work results
- Several years of professional experience in accounting and financial statement preparation
- Sound and practically tested accounting knowledge according to HGB
- Demonstrable experience in supporting annual financial statements
- Routine in collaboration and coordination with auditors
- Experience in an international or group-oriented corporate environment
- Basic experience in consolidating multiple companies
- Experience with cost allocations, especially IT and overhead costs, is an advantage
- Experience in the insurance industry or a comparable regulated industry is desirable, but not mandatory
- Experience in dealing with personnel bottlenecks and challenging project situations
- Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
