Job description
As an Initiatives Manager for Spatial Planning at the municipality of Heerlen, you will be the primary contact for residents and businesses with plans for the local environment. You will explore possibilities, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and act as a liaison between initiators, permit case managers, and advisors.
Project overview
For the municipality of Heerlen, YER is looking for an Initiatives Manager Spatial Planning.
The Position
What will you do?
Together with your colleague initiatives manager, you will be the point of contact for residents and businesses who have plans for the spatial living environment within our municipality. Together, you will explore the possibilities and impossibilities of the initiative. If there are bottlenecks, you will identify how they can be removed, or you will work with the initiator to find good alternative solutions.
You are the 'hinge' between the initiator, the permit case managers, and the advisors. You are a good listener, familiar with issues in the field of spatial planning, and can approach and explain complex matters simply. You have good political antennae and can connect people. To this end, you use your network and continuously work on maintaining and expanding it.
Weekly, you will present incoming initiatives at the Intake Meeting to colleagues from policy and execution to determine early on whether an initiative is desirable, realistic, and promising. For this, you will, together with the process support, prepare the agenda and minutes. You will inform the initiator of the outcome and the next steps and coordinate this with the case manager/permit grantor, other colleagues, and possibly with the involved alderman(s) via memos or council proposals.
You are a point of contact, sounding board, and sparring partner for your colleagues, team managers, and administrators regarding integrated spatial planning matters, the possibilities and obstacles for cooperation on initiatives, and the results and consequences of decisions made about them. Together with the case managers, you will ensure proper handling of files in our new case system (Rx.Mission). Together with your colleague initiatives manager, you will coordinate the task division and ensure an excellent intake meeting.
Are you the energetic and driven professional we are looking for? Apply quickly and help build the Heerlen of Tomorrow!
