Scope: 100 %
Assignment period: November 2026–November 2027
Project details
Södertälje, with some possibility for remote work by agreement with the team
Interview process: One interview with the hiring manager and representatives from the team
About the assignment
The team develops, manages, and improves IT solutions that support Scania's People & Culture processes in Sweden. The application landscape is undergoing a transformation where older systems are being replaced by modern cloud solutions, increasing the need for secure, reliable, and efficient integrations.
You will primarily work in HR Hub, Scania's in-house developed integration platform based on PostgreSQL. The platform transfers and transforms employee, organizational, and other HR data from systems like SAP SuccessFactors to systems for payroll, time reporting, benefits, expenses, and analysis.
This is an operational developer role where you will take responsibility for the entire integration lifecycle: technical analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing management. You will work independently on assigned tasks and collaborate closely with experienced developers, architects, system owners, and business representatives.
Work tasks
Analyze requirements and design, develop, configure, and maintain integrations in HR Hub.
Translate functional requirements, integration specifications, and business rules into technical solutions using PostgreSQL/SQL, APIs, and file-based interfaces.
Implement data mapping, transformations, validations, filtering, routing logic, and reference data management.
Analyze existing interfaces, data flows, and system dependencies for changes and improvements.
Perform developer tests and support system and integration tests.
Troubleshoot and resolve errors in both development and production environments.
Improve integration performance, stability, data quality, and maintainability.
Ensure secure data transfer, appropriate permissions, and responsible handling of sensitive HR data.
Document technical solutions, interfaces, configurations, and deployment instructions.
Support deployments, system transitions, and handover to operations.
Contribute to knowledge sharing, common development standards, and continuous improvements.
Mandatory requirements
At least three years of experience in practical integration development or a corresponding technical developer role.
Strong practical competence in PostgreSQL and SQL, including development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SQL-based solutions.
Experience in designing and implementing integrations with APIs, web services, and file-based interfaces, such as SFTP.
Good understanding of integration architecture and technical design, and the ability to translate business requirements into maintainable solutions.
Experience with structured data formats like JSON and XML.
Experience with data mapping, transformations, validations, filtering, and implementation of business rules.
Experience with integration testing, technical troubleshooting, error analysis, and deployment.
Understanding of secure integration development, data protection, access control, error handling, and operational monitoring.
Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting integrations in production.
Ability to independently drive technical tasks and collaborate with both technical specialists and the business.
Relevant university education in IT, computer science, or software development, or equivalent professional experience.
Good English skills, both spoken and written.
Meritorious experience
SQL-based integration platforms, integration middleware, or in-house developed integration solutions.
SAP SuccessFactors or integrations handling HR master data.
Integrations with, for example, SD Worx Payroll, Worklinq, Benifex, or Snowflake.
Understanding of HR and payroll data, the employee lifecycle, and organizational structures.
JavaScript, Groovy, or other relevant programming and scripting languages.
Agile working methods, version control, and common development processes.
Knowledge of Scania's IT landscape, integration architecture, and technical standards.
Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.
Further training or certifications in integration, database development, cloud technology, or enterprise architecture.
Personal qualities
You are analytical, structured, and solution-oriented with a good ability to understand complex data flows and technical dependencies. You take responsibility for your deliveries, drive the work forward, and identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
You thrive in a collaborative team, enjoy sharing knowledge, and can discuss technical issues with both developers and business representatives. Quality, security, and operational reliability are natural parts of your working method.
The focus of the selection will be on practical PostgreSQL/SQL development and documented experience in building and managing integrations. Previous experience with Scania or SAP SuccessFactors is meritorious but not a requirement.
