Interim Asset Accounting Specialist | SAP FI-AA | Freelancer

For an international client, we are seeking an experienced interim specialist at short notice to support the area of asset accounting. The focus is on the operational management of fixed assets in a complex SAP environment, as well as supporting ongoing transformation and harmonization measures.

Responsibilities

• Independent management and assurance of ongoing asset accounting according to HGB and IFRS
• Execution and quality assurance of asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation runs in SAP
• Reconciliation, cleanup, and analysis of existing asset inventories as well as historical booking and master data
• Management of assets under construction (AuB) including activations and balance sheet assessment
• Contact person for business units as well as internal and external stakeholders for questions regarding fixed assets
• Support with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Assurance of compliance and control requirements in the accounting environment
• Participation in ERP and transformation projects as well as in the harmonization of accounting processes
• Support with ongoing SAP and S/4HANA-related topics

Requirements

• Several years of operational experience in asset accounting or Fixed Asset Accounting
• Very good knowledge of SAP FI-AA or SAP Asset Accounting
• Sound knowledge of accounting according to HGB and IFRS
• Experience in cleaning up, reconciling, and analyzing asset inventories
• Practical experience in the context of ERP transformations, data migrations, or S/4HANA projects is an advantage
• Independent, structured, and hands-on working style
• Experience in an interim environment is desirable
• Start: November 2026
• Duration: 9-12 months
• Workload: Full-time
• Deployment Model: Hybrid (Onboarding on-site, then predominantly hybrid work)
