For an established, internationally active corporate group, we are looking for an experienced Interim Controller (m/f/d) with in-depth experience in the construction industry or a comparable, project-oriented infrastructure environment.

The business unit to be managed comprises several operational sites and companies. The business model is characterized by individual orders, seasonal fluctuations, and collaboration with private and public clients.

Your Mission

You create transparency regarding future revenues, utilization, and results – not just when they are already fixed.

The existing financial reporting forms a solid foundation. Now, the task is to further develop operational planning and control and to establish a reliable forecast at the site level.

• Revenue and Utilization Planning: Building a site-specific revenue funnel for early forecasting of order volume, capacity utilization, and future results.
• Operational Controlling: Analysis and control of the economic development of individual sites, taking seasonal fluctuations into account.
• Forecasting: Development and further development of rolling revenue, cost, and result planning.
• Pre- and Post-calculation: Analysis of order costs, contribution margins, and economic efficiency, as well as identification of potential improvements.
• Reporting and KPIs: Further development of meaningful operational KPIs and decision-relevant control instruments.
• Business Partnering: Close collaboration with operational site managers and management.
• Process Optimization: Improvement of existing controlling processes and data quality using existing ERP and reporting systems.
• Straightforward Controlling Career: Several years of demonstrable professional experience as an operational controller, business controller, or reporting expert with a clear controlling focus.
• Mandatory Industry Experience: In-depth experience in the construction industry, particularly in road or civil engineering, or in a comparable construction-related, project-oriented company.
• Operational Planning Competence: Demonstrable experience in revenue and result forecasting, order backlog analysis, and capacity and utilization planning.
• Calculation Competence: Practical experience in pre- and post-calculation as well as cost and margin controlling.
• System Competence: Very good Excel skills and confident use of ERP, BI, and reporting systems.
• Hands-on Mentality: You work independently, pragmatically, and solution-oriented and understand the economic interrelationships of operational businesses.
• Communication: Experience in collaborating with decentralized sites and operational managers.
• Languages: Fluent German and English.
