Interim IT Project Manager Infrastructure

Project overview

Our client is a medium-sized company in the wholesale and packaging industry. It is part of a larger group and is integrating several acquired companies into its IT. We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager - Infrastructure on an interim basis to initiate and structure the integration until a permanent senior position is filled.

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a project manager in IT infrastructure projects, ideally with multiple companies or locations
• Proven experience in supporting TISAX or ISO audits, including preparation, documentation, and implementation of audit findings
• Experience in managing external IT service providers and suppliers, including contract issues, performance monitoring, and escalation management
• Knowledge of backup, restore, recovery, monitoring, and system optimization to competently assess the infrastructure's condition and risks
• Structured, independent, and responsible working style that maintains an overview even with multiple parallel topics
• Strong communication skills and service orientation in dealing with business departments, executive management, and external partners
• Fluent German (written and spoken) and good English
• Willingness to travel approx. 30%

• Experience with IT integrations after acquisitions, especially with harmonizing heterogeneous system landscapes
• Practical experience in migrating or implementing Microsoft 365 environments, including identity and license management
• Experience in creating technical documentation and in standardizing and optimizing IT processes (e.g., ITIL-oriented)
• Knowledge of ERP and database environments as well as their connection to infrastructure topics
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or IPMA)

• Discovery of the system landscapes of all four companies (infrastructure, network, ERP, databases) as a basis for planning
• Creation of an IT audit with action requirements and a prioritized integration roadmap
• Management of external service providers, suppliers, and technical partners, including assessment of which services to take over, retain, or replace
• Planning and implementation of the integration, especially the introduction of a unified Microsoft 365 environment
• Support for TISAX and ISO audits, including preparation, evidence provision, and follow-up on measures
• Standardization and optimization of IT and service processes
• Consistent technical documentation of all measures and decisions
• Reporting to IT management and coordination with executive management
