Responsibilities

Requirements Must-have

• Definition, maintenance, and continuous development of the performance test strategy as well as associated standards and roadmaps
• Development of realistic test scenarios and workload models based on business-critical user journeys
• Conception of end-to-end performance tests for applications, APIs, interfaces, databases, and dependent services
• Analysis of existing test procedures, identification of optimization potential, and derivation of improvement measures
• Support for product and development teams in setting up, automating, and executing load, stress, spike, endurance, and capacity tests
• Analysis of test results as well as identification of performance bottlenecks and system limits
• Definition of non-functional quality criteria and quality gates
• Integration of performance tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Creation of reports, recommendations for action, and risk analyses for technical teams and management
• Support in capacity planning, release readiness, and production-near risk analyses
• Participation in the areas of resilience, reliability, availability, and operational readiness
• Several years of practical experience in performance engineering, performance testing, or non-functional testing
• Very good knowledge of k6 and/or Apache JMeter
• Experience with load, stress, spike, endurance, scalability, capacity, and concurrency testing
• Experience in testing APIs, backend systems, databases, and distributed architectures
• Experience with asynchronous integrations, message queues, or event streaming technologies, ideally Kafka or Lobster
• Good knowledge of monitoring and observability solutions, especially Grafana
• Experience in analyzing logs, metrics, response times, throughput rates, and resource consumption
• Understanding of performance risks in distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing processes
• Very good analytical skills as well as a structured and data-driven approach to work
• Fluent English skills
• Team-oriented way of working in international and distributed teams

• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, Distributed Tracing, and APM solutions
• Experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud-native monitoring
• Knowledge in the area of resilience, failover, chaos, or disaster recovery testing
• Experience with SLI, SLO, and performance budget concepts
• Programming skills in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Bash, or Go
