Interim Project HSE Specialist

Project overview

As an interim Project HSE Specialist, you will focus on the HSE policy and safety structure within expansion projects for a container terminal.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Participate in various project-related meetings such as progress, planning, and HSE meetings
• Perform (pre) risk analyses
• Establish and monitor HSE requirements for testing and commissioning after completion
• Review and develop training plans focused on HSE competencies
• Check CE files for completeness and compliance
• Develop emergency scenarios for emergency services
• Assess and ensure mandatory certification and work instructions regarding HSE aspects
• Update or develop the Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E) for the relevant installations
• Monitor and review periodic inspections and checks in accordance with ARBO (Occupational Health and Safety) and asset management
• Monitor compliance and technical developments
• Evaluate test periods in the HSE field
• Report on progress, deviations, and risks to project management and the board
• HBO work and thinking level
• HVK diploma (Higher Safety Expert)
• Extensive HSE experience in industrial projects, preferably in the Port of Rotterdam
• Knowledge of safety procedures, work methods, and machine safety
• Strong communication skills and the ability to create support for safety improvements
• Analytical and solution-oriented work capacity
• Short-term availability for 5 days a week for 12 months
• Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages
