Interim Senior Expert Electrical Engineering / Control Cabinet Construction - Dortmund

Project overview

Project Goal: An experienced freelance expert is sought for short-term support in the Electrical Engineering and Control Cabinet Construction department to assist with technical project coordination, design, and quality assurance, as well as to further develop existing processes and structures.

Responsibilities

• Technical coordination and support of a five-person electrical engineering team
• Planning, design, and testing of low-voltage switchgear for industrial heaters
• Review and optimization of existing EPLAN circuit diagrams and technical documentation
• Review and preparation for release of technical documents according to EN 61439 and relevant safety standards
• Development and optimization of control, regulation, and safety concepts
• Technical error analysis and support in problem-solving
• Preparation and support of factory acceptance tests (FAT)
• If necessary, support with commissioning and on-site error analysis at the customer's premises
• Development and optimization of design standards, testing processes, and documentation structures

Requirements

• Sound experience in electrical engineering, control cabinet construction, and industrial plant construction
• Very good knowledge in the design of low-voltage switchgear and EPLAN P8
• Experience with Siemens S7 / TIA Portal as well as industrial control and regulation technology
• Ideally, knowledge in the power control of electrical heaters, especially thyristor controllers
• Knowledge of relevant standards, especially EN 61439 and functional safety
• Experience in technical project management and technical coordination
• Hands-on mentality, structured way of working, and strong problem-solving skills
• Good English skills and ideally willingness to travel for occasional international customer assignments

Project details

Project start as soon as possible, initially approx. 3 months with an option to extend. Preferred utilization: Full-time.

Work Model: Primarily on-site in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia; project-related coordination.

Expected Outcome: Technical support and relief for the electrical engineering team, optimization of existing circuit diagrams and documentation, ensuring standards-compliant technical documents, and further development of design standards, testing processes, and documentation structures.
