Interim Software Engineer Embedded Connectivity

Project overview

We are currently looking for a freelance Software Engineer (m/f/d) Embedded Connectivity for our client.

Responsibilities

• Development and optimization of communication solutions for networked embedded systems
• Conception and implementation of reliable communication architectures between devices, mobile applications, local interfaces, and cloud platforms
• Implementation of interfaces for configuration, remote control, telemetry, diagnostic functions, and firmware updates
• Implementation of security concepts to ensure protected device communication, including authentication and encryption methods
• Integration and connection of embedded devices to overarching system landscapes
• Close coordination with the Cloud, Mobile Development, and Hardware Engineering departments
• Creation and maintenance of technical specifications, architectural concepts, and communication documentation

Your current profile

• Project experience in hardware-near software development with C++
• Sound knowledge in the area of embedded connectivity and secure communication protocols
• Experience in implementing security mechanisms such as encryption, authentication, and certificate management
• Good knowledge in analyzing and resolving complex communication and integration errors
• Practical experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and their core concepts (tasks, queues, timers)
• Confident use of modern development tools, version control systems, and automated build and deployment processes
• Know-how in OTA updates, secure boot, and device provisioning is an advantage
• Experience in cross-departmental collaboration within agile development environments

Remote/On-site: 4 days per week on-site in Niederndorf, Austria, and 1 day remote
