IT Application Manager IFS Planning and Scheduling Optimization / Workforce Management

For our client in Cologne, we are looking for an IT Application Manager (m/f/d) IFS Disposition / Workforce Management.

The Position

You will manage the stable operation, adaptation, and further development of our IFS-based disposition solution with a focus on Planning and Scheduling Optimization (PSO) and Mobile Work Order (MWO). You will combine operational application management with technical coordination between the business department, Product Owner, infrastructure, DevOps, and integration teams, as well as external partners.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage IFS/PSO applications and interfaces; monitor availability and performance, identify trends, and initiate improvements.
• Analyze complex incidents, coordinate sustainable solutions in 3rd level support, and document recurring problems.
• Evaluate, plan, test, and controllably introduce releases, deployments, updates, and patches; identify and reduce technical implementation risks.
• Manage IFS/PSO configurations, authorizations, background processes, and system jobs, as well as the technical interaction with MWO.
• Monitor integrations and data flows, connect new systems, and coordinate technical changes with infrastructure, DevOps, and integration teams.
• Technically specify requirements, evaluate effort and feasibility; professionally and technically coordinate internal and external implementation partners and support architectural conformity.
• Maintain technical documentation, communicate innovations understandably, and support key users through technical training and workshops; evaluate relevant technologies and optimization possibilities.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or Business Informatics, or comparable practical experience; at least three years of relevant professional experience.
• Practical experience with IFS Cloud or IFS Applications and knowledge of disposition and scheduling; experience with PSO and MWO is particularly desirable.
• Solid knowledge in application operation, error analysis, performance monitoring, and release, change, and test management; understanding of platforms, APIs, middleware, and system architectures.
• SQL/database knowledge and experience with SAP CPI / Integration Suite, ITSM, or monitoring are advantageous.
• Structured, independent way of working, understanding of operational requirements, and confident communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders; very good German and English skills.
