Job description
Seeking an IT Architect for a client project in Bonn, Germany, focusing on cloud-based data storage, analytics platforms, and simulation-based forecasting. The role involves ensuring and developing applications on a cloud foundation, working with PaaS for Data Analytics and Big Data, and managing deployment processes.
Project overview
At virtual7, we combine our technological expertise with a deep understanding of our customers' needs. Through tailor-made solutions, we create real added value for our framework agreement partners in public administration. We are currently looking for an IT Architect (m/f/d) for one of our clients.
YOUR MISSION
At our client's site, in addition to central data storage and a data analysis platform with current software tools for analysis, a simulation-based forecasting capability for future usage control is being developed.
- Project location: Bonn
- Period: November 16, 2026 to December 31, 2026
- Work mix: 30 days remote / 4 days on-site
- Important: Remote work only possible within Germany
- Important: Project language in German
- Important: Willingness for SÜ2 according to § 9 SÜG (classified information/sabotage protection)
- Extension possible until June 30, 2027 (100 person-days remote / 10 days on-site)

- Ensuring and further developing the application on the foundation-enabled cloud

- Existing data sources within various domains will be centralized, aggregated, prepared, and analyzed
- Building and operating essential application components
- Ensuring deployment processes CI/CD, image ordering and provisioning, automation
- Connecting interfaces and utilizing the application for analytical tasks
- Foundation Level Software Architecture from ISAQB Foundation or similar
- Knowledge in IT architecture consulting for processes in the public and military sectors
- min. 3 years of experience with consulting services regarding client/server and web-based IT architectures in virtual, highly available data center environments with > 800 virtualized systems
- min. 3 years of experience in planning IT architectures in the public, military environment for military command and support processes
- min. 3 years of experience in project assignments for the public sector, including conducting and moderating client meetings and creating/maintaining documentation
- min. 3 years of experience in creating IT architecture concepts, including using architecture tools such as ARIS or Alfabet
- min. 3 years of experience in tool-supported requirements gathering (Requirements Engineering)
- min. 3 years of experience in solution design / solution and service descriptions in the public sector
- min. 3 years of experience in planning / conceptualizing virtual operating systems based on VMware vSphere (Windows, Linux)
- min. 3 years of experience with ITSM processes, especially with Change Management
