• Conception and further development of highly available storage, SAN, and backup architectures in complex enterprise IT environments
• Creation of architecture and service concepts, including solution outlines, deployment concepts, and information security concepts
• Analysis of existing storage and backup processes regarding efficiency, scalability, and technical feasibility
• Identification and implementation of automation potentials for updates, deployments, configuration processes, and the collection of operational key figures
• Conception and automation of recurring storage and backup processes using Ansible Automation Platform
• Evaluation of new storage and backup technologies, including setting up suitable test environments, creating test plans, and documenting results
• Accompanying the introduction of new solutions into regular operation as well as further development of existing systems
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, operating manuals, service descriptions, and handover documents
• Integration of new architectural building blocks into existing release, patch, and change management processes
• Modeling of technical and procedural changes in ARIS and maintenance of architectural information in Alfabet
• Coordination of technical requirements, risks, and change needs with the involved specialist and operational teams
• At least 5 years of experience in complex network environments, especially with management tools, network planning, and firewall rule sets
• At least 5 years of experience with enterprise storage and SAN infrastructures, especially:
• Dell EMC Storage Portfolio, especially Data Domain
• IBM Storage Portfolio with FlashSystem, Spectrum Virtualize, and TS4500
• SAN design with Cisco MDS and Brocade
• High availability and cluster architectures as well as smart scale solutions
• Experience in enterprise environments with more than 200 storage systems, 300 SAN switches, and 30 SVC clusters
• At least 3 years of experience with Cohesity and/or IBM Storage Defender Data Protect in enterprise IT environments
• At least 5 years of experience with operating system platforms, especially RHEL, SLES, Microsoft Windows Server, and Microsoft Cluster
• At least 3 years of experience in creating private cloud storage and backup concepts, especially cloud tiering, object storage, and hybrid disaster recovery architectures
• At least 3 years of experience in supporting and accompanying public tenders according to the CIO Bund's UfAB standard
• At least 3 years of experience with Policy Based High Availability (PBHA), Policy Based Replication (PBR), and NVMe over TCP
• At least 5 years of experience in the conception and implementation of automation solutions based on the Ansible Automation Platform, especially:
• Automation of storage and backup provisioning
• Automated configuration and patch rollouts for storage, SAN, and backup components
• Automated reporting and compliance checks
• At least 5 years of experience with REST API interfaces
• At least 3 years of experience with agile working methods using Jira and documentation in Atlassian Confluence
• At least 3 years of experience with the following tools: Maximo (Change Management), ARIS, Alfabet (Portfolio Management), Compliance Issue Management Tool

Service Description

For our client, we are looking for an experienced IT Architect with a focus on Storage and Backup for the conception, modernization, and further development of complex enterprise IT infrastructures.

Due to continuously increasing data volumes, growing demands for data security and system availability, as well as existing capacity and performance limits, the existing storage and backup architectures are to be further developed and optimized.

The goal of the project is the conception, evaluation, and documentation of future-proof, highly available storage and backup solutions, taking into account existing reference architectures and security requirements.
