Project overview

Introduction

Currently, the business unit is pursuing a strategy where various approaches to process mining and simulation of load behavior in operational processes are being evaluated in parallel. Both market products and in-house developments are being assessed.

This project involves evaluating the feasibility of an in-house development on the "Snowflake" platform with Python and Streamlit as key technology components.

As part of the "Digital Twin" initiative, this topic is to be further developed using various use cases, particularly in the context of yard logistics. The capabilities for independent solution creation ("make") based on the DISCOVERY platform (technically: Snowflake) are to be evaluated.

In the first step, as part of the assignment, an existing forecast function developed in Excel by the business side will be analyzed and translated into a program design that can be deployed in the Snowflake environment (Python / Streamlit).

• Validation of the concept for transferring Excel to deployable Python code
• Rough outline of the IT system architecture (current state and target state)
• Analysis of the feasibility of connecting external components for optimization
• Documentation of the fulfillment of performance requirements and estimation of transaction costs
• Expertise in creating applications with Python and Streamlit
• Operational experience as a System Architect
• Strong ability in understanding and documenting complex issues
• Sound theoretical knowledge in the field of Operations
• Research – especially knowledge of methods for simulation and forecasting of complex operational processes
