IT Expert - Engineer MS Office & Client

Project overview

For our client in the banking sector, we are looking for an experienced IT Engineer (m/f/d) for Microsoft 365, Windows client management, and IT security.

Responsibilities

• Expert advice on hardening and secure configuration of Microsoft 365 Enterprise Apps
• Analysis and evaluation of existing Windows 11 client and Microsoft Office configurations, considering specific infrastructure and security requirements
• Development of technical concepts for replacing no longer supported macros and scripts, especially in historically grown Excel and Access workflows
• Conception and evaluation of modern solution approaches for modernizing existing Office-based business processes
• Analysis and resolution of complex technical challenges in the Windows and Microsoft Office environment
• Planning and implementation of client hardening measures according to relevant security standards, especially BSI guidelines and CIS Benchmarks
• Technical deployment, configuration, and migration of Microsoft products, especially in 64-bit environments
• Analysis and adaptation of existing VBA and .NET-based applications and scripts
• Analysis and configuration of Windows Active Directory, Federation Services, and associated directory and authentication services
• Analysis and configuration of database connections via ODBC and processing of interfaces to Microsoft SQL Server
• Conception and implementation of certificate and encryption solutions based on PKI infrastructures, including S/MIME
• Performing technical analyses, evaluating solution alternatives, and developing sustainable IT solutions within IT and Microsoft Office projects

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in IT projects and Microsoft Office projects, preferably in the financial sector
• Profound knowledge in the analysis and modernization of historically grown Excel and Access workflows
• Broad technological IT basic knowledge and at least five years of experience in the role of an Engineer
• At least five years of experience with Windows Active Directory and Federation Services
• At least five years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server and database connections via ODBC
• At least three years of experience with VMware
• At least eight years of practical IT experience in the banking environment
• At least three years of experience in client hardening according to BSI requirements and CIS Benchmarks
• At least five years of experience in VBA and .NET programming
• At least three years of experience with PKI infrastructures, certificate provisioning, and certificate-based encryption and signing, e.g., S/MIME
• At least ten years of experience in the technical deployment and migration of Microsoft products, especially in 64-bit environments
• Strong analytical skills, structured way of working, and quick comprehension
• Independent work and strong time and self-management skills
• High communication skills in conveying complex technical issues to technical and non-technical target groups
• Professional demeanor, commitment, and audience-appropriate communication with IT management and project participants
