IT Infrastructure Consultant – VDI Transformation Analysis

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Consultant (m/f/d) to support the strategic realignment of a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). The focus is on creating a well-founded decision paper for budget planning and future infrastructure alignment.

Your tasks include a comprehensive analysis of the existing VDI environment, including architecture, hardware, software, and dependencies. You will identify technical weaknesses, bottlenecks, and optimization potentials and evaluate alternative target architectures – particularly a possible migration to fat-client infrastructures or hybrid solution approaches. Furthermore, you will conduct a detailed economic and cost analysis, considering licensing, hardware, operating costs, support, and personnel expenses.

We expect extensive practical experience with comparable infrastructure transformations and their support. Ideally, you have already evaluated VDI environments regarding a possible replacement and carried out migrations from established virtualization solutions to fat-client systems. Your strength lies in combining technical requirements with business aspects and organizational impacts.

Experience in a regulated environment – such as the banking or financial services sector – is an advantage. Knowledge of relevant virtualization platforms and their ecosystems completes your profile.

The project starts promptly and runs until the end of November with a total effort of 5–8 person-days. The activity can be performed fully remotely.
