IT Infrastructure & Security Architect [German]

Project overview

We are looking for an Infrastructure Architect for an interesting technological project to join our TITANS freelancers team.

Project requirements

• design and review of infrastructure architecture (private cloud, hybrid cloud, virtualization, networks, storage) with an emphasis on security, scalability, and high availability
• assessment of existing infrastructure and design of target architecture
• ensuring architecture compliance with security and compliance requirements
• creation of technical concepts, architectural documentation, and recommendations
• technical coordination with architects, engineering teams, and the customer
• cooperation takes place in a 100% REMOTE mode (occasional travel to Germany, approx. 1-2 times per half-year with reimbursement of travel expenses)
• minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, including 5 years in infrastructure architecture
• experience with
• designing complex enterprise infrastructure
• experience with security-by-design, compliance, and architectural reviews
• knowledge and experience across various IT infrastructure areas:
• Compute / Server Infrastructure – physical and virtual servers, server infrastructure design, capacity planning
• Virtualization – e.g., VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM, virtualization platforms and their architecture
• Cloud / Private / Hybrid Cloud – design of private and hybrid cloud environments, VMware Cloud Foundation, OpenStack, Azure, AWS
• Networking – LAN/WAN, VLAN, routing, switching, firewalls, network segmentation, VPN
• Storage – SAN/NAS, enterprise storage, VMware vSAN, data redundancy and availability
• IAM (Identity & Access Management) – Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, authentication and authorization
• Backup & Disaster Recovery – backup strategies, Veeam, replication, disaster recovery, RPO/RTO
• High Availability (HA) & Resilience – design of highly available systems, clustering, failover, redundancy, business continuity
• Monitoring & Operations – infrastructure monitoring, observability, log management, and operational sustainability
• advantageous:
• experience from the defense industry, public sector, critical infrastructure, or other regulated environments
• practical experience with demanding enterprise security and compliance requirements
• relevant certifications in IT architecture, infrastructure, cloud, or security
• experience with large and complex enterprise environments
• existing security clearance

• German language at a communicative level (spoken and written, min. C1)
• English language at a communicative level (spoken and written, min. C1)
