Senior IT Infrastructure & Security Architect – Remote (Defense Sector)
Contract | ASAP / 01.11.2026 | 6–12 months+ | 100% Remote | English-speaking role
We are looking for a senior IT Infrastructure & Security Architect to support an enterprise defense customer. Strong infrastructure architecture focus, with security-related responsibilities. Candidates must have genuine senior infrastructure architecture experience, not purely cybersecurity, administration, operations, development, or project management.
Key Responsibilities
Mandatory Requirements
- Design and evolve enterprise IT infrastructure architectures, standards, and solution designs.
- Assess existing landscapes and identify modernization opportunities.
- Design secure, resilient infrastructure solutions with security-by-design.
- Provide architecture guidance across infrastructure, platform, and security topics.
- Evaluate solutions for scalability, security, and operational feasibility.
- Produce architecture documentation and collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams.
- 10+ years overall IT experience; 5+ years in infrastructure architecture.
- Senior-level experience in complex enterprise IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure architecture and security principles.
- Experience across several of: compute/server, virtualization, cloud/hybrid, storage, networking, IAM, backup/DR, high availability/resilience, monitoring/operations.
- Ability to assess current landscapes, define target architectures, and communicate technical designs clearly.
- English required.
Nice to have
- Defense, public sector, critical infrastructure, or regulated environment experience.
- Relevant architecture, cloud, or security certifications.
- Existing security clearance (SÜ) an advantage.
- Experience in large, complex enterprise organizations.

- 100% remote; no regular on-site presence. Possible ~2 visits per year.
