Job description
Interim IT Project Manager needed for a large-scale ERP implementation (IFS) for public transport in the Amsterdam region. The role focuses on the Data & IT project, including integrations, data migration, and IT security.
Project overview
Job description
Do you, as an interim IT project manager, have extensive experience with complex IT implementations? Are you available an average of 32 hours per week and ready for a large-scale ERP implementation that will make a significant contribution to the future of public transport in the Amsterdam region? Then we would like to meet you.
Responsibilities
For a large-scale ERP implementation, we are looking for a driven IT project manager to replace the current IT project manager. Within GVB, IFS will be implemented as the new ERP system over the next eighteen months on a greenfield basis by our implementation partner Arcwide, which won the European tender for this. The implementation started at the beginning of 2026, so you will be joining a moving train. We will completely redesign our back-office processes, from HR to the workshops, based on market standards and best practices without customization.
Arcwide provides an implementation team with functional and technical consultants led by a project manager. Within GVB's ERP program, there are three projects: Organizational Readiness, Implementation, and Data & IT. You will be responsible for the Data & IT project. Together with various staff officers and the other two project managers, you will form the program team, which is led by the overall Program Manager, to whom you will report weekly. The program manager reports monthly to the Steering Committee (C-level). PMO support is available at both program and project level.
The Data & IT project consists of three main components: integrations, data, and IT security. The new ERP system will be a prominent part of GVB's IT landscape and has more than 50 interfaces with the existing landscape. You will be responsible for the IT architecture of ERP and the cyber-secure realization of the mentioned interfaces. Your team will include an Enterprise and an Integration Architect, plus an IT security specialist. On behalf of the program, you will manage GVB's internal IT organization, which works Agile.
The correct GDPR-proof migration of cleaned and possibly enriched data from the existing ERP system to the new ERP system is an important responsibility of yours. The replacement of the existing ERP system has dependencies with other GVB programs such as Data & Digitization and Schoon over. Your role is to manage these dependencies effectively.
The program has three go-live moments: Payroll (AFAS; NTBD), Essentials (IFS; October 2027), and Advanced (IFS; March 2028). You are responsible for the go-live of Payroll, for which a temporary SAP/AFAS link is required.
Job requirements
This is you:
The program has agreed on three principles with the Board, to which all actions and decisions will be tested:
It is important that you fully recognize yourself in the program principles and are prepared every day to mirror your behavior and attitude to these principles and to dare and want to uphold and adhere to them. For you, this means, among other things, that you embrace working based on market standards and best practices and fully support the vision of not allowing customization and that work processes adapt to the system instead of the other way around. You are also transparent at all times with thorough reports that are accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
This you bring:
You maintain an overview in complex situations and switch effortlessly between strategy, principles, and execution. You are always solution-oriented, decisive, remain calm under pressure, and maintain the program principles even under stress and strong headwinds. You stand firm when things get really exciting and seek connection and collaboration to overcome challenges. Stakeholder management is your strength. You invest in relationships, listen actively, and bring diverse interests together. This is how you contribute to successful collaboration and broadly supported results. Furthermore, you possess:
Commitment to stay until the end of the program is an important requirement.
Of course, this vacancy is open to anyone who recognizes themselves in this.
