IT Project Manager Energy Industry

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager (m/f/d) for the energy industry. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning and management of IT projects and cross-functional initiatives with a focus on scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and budget.

Your tasks include analyzing business requirements and processes in energy trading, particularly in the areas of asset power, renewable generation, and direct marketing. You will translate requirements into functional specifications, epics, user stories, and structured work packages. Together with IT architecture, product owners, and development teams, you will develop and evaluate solution options within the existing system and data landscape.

You will create roadmaps as well as milestone and dependency plans, transparently track progress, and prepare decisions for governance bodies. The coordination of internal and external stakeholders, moderation of workshops, and ensuring communication between business, IT, management, and suppliers are among your core tasks. Furthermore, you will identify required project roles, coordinate external resources, and ensure the quality of requirements, decision documents, and handovers.

You have a degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field. Several years of professional experience in IT project management and business analysis, as well as demonstrable responsibility for end-to-end deliveries, are required. Certification or solid practical experience in project management or agile methods (PMI, PRINCE2, IPMA, Scrum) is a prerequisite. Proficiency with collaboration and project management tools such as Microsoft 365, Azure DevOps, or Jira/Confluence is necessary. Fluent German and good English complete your profile.
