IT Specialist - GCP Cloud & DevOps Automation Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Google Cloud Platform Engineer with strong DevOps, Terraform and CI/CD automation experience to support the delivery of enterprise API infrastructure and automated deployment solutions.

The role will focus on implementing reusable infrastructure components, automating Apigee X configurations, developing deployment pipelines and improving the reliability, security and repeatability of cloud platform delivery.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud, Terraform, CI/CD and automated testing, alongside practical knowledge of Apigee X and Cloud Run.

• Design, develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform.
• Automate the deployment and configuration of Apigee X and supporting GCP infrastructure.
• Build reusable Terraform modules for Apigee environments, environment groups and related platform configurations.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Harness, Jenkins or Google Cloud Build.
• Automate API deployment, validation, testing, promotion and rollback processes.
• Implement version-controlled configuration management and repeatable deployment patterns.
• Support Cloud Run integration, workload placement and private network connectivity.
• Implement automated controls for environment separation and workload isolation.
• Develop and maintain automated tests for cloud infrastructure and API integrations.
• Support developer self-service onboarding through Backstage and golden-path templates.
• Configure IAM, service accounts, networking, DNS and security controls in GCP.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure provisioning, connectivity, deployment and pipeline issues.
• Integrate monitoring, logging and alerting into automated platform deployments.
• Collaborate with architects, API engineers and security teams to translate approved designs into reusable automation.
• Maintain technical documentation, deployment guidance and operational runbooks.
• Strong hands-on engineering experience across Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Advanced experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• Strong experience developing and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical knowledge of Apigee X, including configuration, environments and deployment automation.
• Experience working with Cloud Run and Google Cloud networking.
• Strong understanding of GCP IAM, service accounts, VPC networking, DNS and private connectivity.
• Experience using GitHub, Harness, Jenkins, Cloud Build or equivalent DevOps tooling.
• Experience developing automated infrastructure, integration and deployment tests.
• Strong skills in Python, Bash or comparable Scripting languages.
• Knowledge of Git-based version control, branching, release management and rollback.
• Experience building reusable cloud modules and standardised deployment patterns.
• Strong Linux skills and experience troubleshooting cloud infrastructure.
• Understanding of cloud security, monitoring, observability and operational resilience.
• Experience using Apigee APIs and Terraform providers to automate Apigee X administration.
• Experience developing Backstage templates and developer self-service golden paths.
• Experience with GKE, Kubernetes or service mesh technologies.
• Experience with Dynatrace and Google Cloud Operations.
• Knowledge of API authentication, OAuth 2.0, JWT and mTLS.
• Experience working in highly regulated enterprise or financial-services environments.
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or related certifications.
