Seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer for a 6-month contract (with extension option) in Amersfoort, working hybrid within the energy market. The role involves developing and managing Java applications for Identity & Access Management (IAM) and rewriting existing components.

Do you want to work at the heart of the energy transition? 32 – 40 hours | Amersfoort / Hybrid (office day Thursday) | Energy Market | Standby services | Start date ASAP | Assignment duration 6 months with option to extend WhoAmI is a team within the IT Foundation value stream. The team is responsible for delivering Platform Solutions in the field of Identity & Access Management (IAM). Additionally, we are building a self-service portal used by internal EDSN DevOps teams and by market parties in the energy market. Within our domain, we develop and manage, among other things, Java applications for recording and reporting on authorization events, and for the secure exchange of files with market parties. Furthermore, in the coming period, we will be rewriting a number of existing components to Java. You will play an important role in this. We are looking for an experienced Java developer with a can-do mentality, who is social and communicative. You have knowledge of modern Java and Spring Boot, contribute to architectural discussions, and guide colleagues in technical choices. We are a small specialist team that is easily approachable for DevOps teams. We have a fixed office day on Thursdays. We also expect you to be willing to work a second day at the office if the situation requires it. Your profile Education and experience Minimum HBO work and thinking level in IT, supplemented with relevant certificates Minimum 5 years of experience as a Java developer, part of which in a complex environment Minimum 3 years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum/DevOps environment Personal characteristics Communicative and social Affinity with IT and people Structured and quality-conscious Technical skills You have extensive experience with Java (21+) and Spring Boot (Spring Web, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security) You have experience building REST APIs according to an API-first approach (OpenAPI) You have experience with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL) and database migrations (e.g., Flyway) You have experience with event-driven architectures with Kafka (preferably in combination with Avro and Schema Registry) You write well-testable code and have experience with test frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers, and Cucumber You have experience with containerization (Docker) and deploying to Kubernetes What will you do? You contribute to architectural and design discussions and take a leading role in migrating existing components to Java You contribute to delivering a robust, scalable, and secure system You ensure knowledge transfer within the team and coach less experienced colleagues You support other dev/ops teams in using our platform You perform standby duty on agreed days and are then available outside regular working hours Plus Experience with Go Experience with AWS (e.g., S3, SQS, IAM) Experience with observability (Micrometer, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus) Experience building CI/CD pipelines (e.g., with GitLab) and GitOps (Helm, ArgoCD) Experience with Infrastructure as Code & Terraform Knowledge of IAM standards such as OAuth2.0 / OpenID Connect, SAML, and SCIM Experience in, and knowledge of, energy market processes
