Java Developer

Project overview

For our client, we are looking for a senior Java Software Engineer with experience in developing in the microservices, Spring Boot, and Docker/Kubernetes/Openshift environment.

Project requirements

• development of the new generation of a risk management platform for a significant financial institution that protects the stability of European financial markets
• design and implementation of modern cloud-native microservices in Java using Spring Boot, gRPC, and Protobuf
• working with a modern tech stack including OpenShift, Docker, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Istio Service Mesh, and Redis
• management of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
• integration and management of containerized applications in the Red Hat OpenShift environment
• collaboration within an agile development team on the delivery of risk management functionality
• ensuring compliance with technical standards and security requirements
• collaboration takes place in a hybrid mode, with at least 2 days per week in the Prague offices
• at least 5 years of experience with commercial development in Java
• proven experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift)
• excellent communication and teamwork skills
• active knowledge of English at a minimum B2 level
• advanced experience with:
• design and development of microservice or service-oriented architecture
• development of cloud-native solutions, ideally in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment
• creation of REST APIs (OpenAPI / Swagger)
• advantageous:
• previous experience with C++
• knowledge of gRPC and Protocol Buffers
• knowledge of Python
• familiarity with financial markets (e.g., bonds, stocks, interest rate swaps, futures, options)
