Job description
Seeking a Java Developer to migrate the persistence layer of the "VD-Rechtsschutz" application from CMP to JPA, involving backend and frontend adjustments, database changes, and comprehensive testing.
Project overview
For our client, we are currently looking for a software developer in the Java environment to support and implement the migration of a persistence layer from CMP to JPA as part of the "VD-Rechtsschutz" application.
Our client is restructuring its system landscape. Since the future target JBOSS server, unlike the previously used Oracle Weblogic Server (WLS), no longer supports Container Managed Persistence (CMP), the existing "VD-Rechtsschutz" application must be migrated to the Java Persistence API (JPA). The application consists of a Java Swing-based frontend and a Java backend and has various interfaces (e.g., for document generation, archiving, and payment systems). The services are provided independently by the expert using tools such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, Git, and Confluence.
Responsibilities
Our Requirements
- Creation or adaptation of the business component and creation of a new persistence component
- Supplementation and restructuring of existing database tables
- Adjustments of accesses within the application to the new persistence layer
- Conception, creation, and execution of developer tests
- Creation of automated test cases to verify correct migration and general application functionality
- Creation of developer documentation for the programmed components
- Independent development in strict adherence to the programming guidelines and security specifications provided by the client
- Independent and proactive clarification of technical or functional ambiguities
- Several years of in-depth experience in Java development (frontend/backend)
- Strong expertise in database persistence, knowledge of CMP (Container Managed Persistence) and JPA (Java Persistence API) is mandatory
- Experience with JEE application servers (Oracle Weblogic Server and JBOSS)
- Ideally, knowledge in development with Java Swing
- Very good knowledge of common development tools: Eclipse, IntelliJ, and Git (version control)
- Confident handling of Jira and Confluence for project communication and documentation
- Experience with the tools Innovator (modeling) and VP/MS (insurance product modeling) is a big plus
- Very high level of personal responsibility as well as an independent and structured way of working
