Team Hermes works on the core of data exchange, including P4 and the authorization server.

You will develop and manage reliable and secure backend services that enable controlled data exchange between parties within the Dutch energy market. You are responsible for the entire DevOps lifecycle: from analysis, design, and development to testing, deployment, monitoring, management, and further development. After a short onboarding period, you will work independently within the team. What will you do?

You will be involved in, among other things: developing and maintaining backend services in Java and Spring Boot; designing, building, and managing APIs and integrations; working with asynchronous data exchange, including via Kafka; contributing to solutions for authentication, authorization, and secure data exchange; realizing automated tests and monitoring code quality; maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines; deploying, monitoring, and managing applications; analyzing and resolving technical disruptions and performance issues; performing code reviews and substantiating technical choices; improving scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability; documenting and actively transferring knowledge to internal team members.

You take ownership, communicate clearly about progress, risks, and dependencies, and work independently without losing sight of collaboration with the team.

Minimum requirements The candidate demonstrably possesses: HBO or WO work and thinking level; at least four years of relevant experience as a software or DevOps Engineer; at least four years of recent hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot; experience with REST APIs and system integrations; experience with Kafka or a comparable technology for asynchronous messaging; experience with Maven and/or Gradle; experience with automated testing and code quality; experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines; experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift; good command of the Dutch language.

The CV must clearly show with which assignments, during which period, and in which role this experience was gained. Plus Experience with one or more of the following technologies or topics is a plus: Kotlin and Hibernate; AWS; PostgreSQL and SQL; Terraform; Helm and ArgoCD; SonarQube or SonarCloud; Grafana and observability; solutions for authentication and authorization; data exchange in a regulated or business-critical environment. When are you successful?

You are successful when you independently bring more complex tasks from analysis to production, take responsibility for the operation of the software, and actively contribute to quality, automation, and monitoring. You can substantiate technical choices, discuss risks in a timely manner, and demonstrably transfer knowledge to internal team members.
