This assignment focuses on the further digitalization of Finance within Gasunie and on connecting financial issues, processes, data, and ICT.

Finance is changing. New technology, data, automation, and AI increasingly offer opportunities to design our financial processes smarter, simpler, and more effectively. At the same time, this demands sharp choices, good collaboration, and coherence between Finance and ICT.

Within this assignment, the focus is on connecting issues within Finance and ICT. The professional translates needs from Finance into clear and coherent issues for ICT and translates technological developments and possibilities into concrete opportunities for financial processes and control.

Within this assignment, the professional is not the technical specialist or functional administrator, but possesses sufficient knowledge of Finance and ICT to bring both worlds together, provide direction, and contribute to valuable and future-proof solutions.

Responsibilities

Act as a central link between Finance and ICT for digitalization, information provision, and technology issues.

Develop and maintain an integral Finance ICT roadmap, together with Finance and ICT.

Gather, structure, and connect needs from the broader Finance organization.

Translate Finance needs into clear issues and proposals for ICT and translate ICT developments into opportunities and consequences for Finance.

Support the prioritization of initiatives based on, among other things, business value, strategic contribution, risks, compliance, dependencies, and available capacity in consultation with the Finance leadership team.

Monitor the coherence between Finance processes, data, SAP, and other applications, reports, and organizational change.

Identify dependencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities and discuss them in a timely manner.

Facilitate clear governance and decision-making between Finance and ICT.

Promote standardization and prevent fragmented or local solutions where an integral approach yields more value.

Support Finance with business cases, impact analyses, and decision-making regarding digitalization initiatives.

Monitor whether agreed initiatives actually deliver the intended results and value for Finance.

Contribute to the successful implementation and adoption of new solutions and working methods.

Required expertise and experience

The professional easily switches between different fields. Specialist ICT knowledge is not required, but the ability to understand what technology can mean for Finance is. In addition, the candidate has knowledge of financial processes and the ability to clearly identify the underlying need.

The professional can operate in an environment where different interests converge and the best solution is not always clear in advance. The professional brings structure, connects stakeholders, and translates complex topics into clear choices.

HBO+/WO education in the direction of finance, business administration, information management, administrative information provision, or IT.

Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in a complex organization.

Experience at the interface of Finance, processes, data, and ICT.

Good knowledge of financial processes and financial control.

Experience with digitalization, change processes, or organization-wide improvement initiatives.

Experience with stakeholder management and connecting different disciplines and interests.

Affinity with developments in the field of data, automation, and AI.

Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAC-P, or comparable Finance solutions.

Understanding of Agile working, product management, and change management is a plus.

Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.

For this assignment, we are looking for a business-driven change agent who understands how Finance, Business, and IT create value together. The professional can connect stakeholders around a common vision and contribute to the realization of changes.

Groningen, with partial remote working possible in consultation.

Number of hours per week: 32-40 hours per week

Assignment term: 1-11-2026 to 31-12-2027 (first contract until 31-12-2026)

Generic function: Advisor Finance Risk and Control Cx

FGCx, all-in (Finance & Control), Middle €121.75 - €130.00

Salary from €7035.67 to €9607.33 gross per month (scale FGCX), based on a full-time employment. In addition, you receive a fixed 13th month (holiday pay) and 14th month.

20 vacation days for a full-time employment. Want more days off? With your flexible choice budget, you can buy up to 27.5 extra vacation days.

Commuting costs home-work €0.23/km

A monthly home-working allowance of €24.50 (net)

For this assignment, we are open to different contract types:

Employment - Salary scaling according to the applicable collective labor agreement.

Freelancer - Based on a contract for services.

Important conditions for freelancer engagement:

The assignment is carried out as an independent entrepreneur, without employer authority or integration into the organization;

There is a clear assignment description with concrete deliverables;

The engagement must comply with the applicable DBA guidelines.

When hired through a supplier, the agreed rates and conditions apply in accordance with the mediation agreement. Salaried employees are scaled according to the applicable collective labor agreement.

Supplier conditions

Offering freelancers through a supplier is only permitted if it is explicitly done at the request of the freelancer concerned. In that case, only a fee-only arrangement applies.

Upon award, a fee agreement will be concluded with a term of 12 months.

The assignment

The assignment is carried out for the Central Unit Planning & Control and the broader Finance organization. The professional oversees the main digital developments and initiatives within Finance and connects them with the developments, possibilities, and priorities within ICT.

For the execution of the assignment, the professional coordinates with relevant stakeholders within Finance and ICT, including process owners, product owners, key users, functional management, data and information management, and architecture. The professional facilitates the necessary coordination to translate different needs and interests into joint choices and priorities.

The professional looks beyond a single system or project and monitors the integral coherence between processes, data, systems, information provision, internal control, and organizational change.
