for a current inquiry from Deutsche Bahn, we are urgently looking for an experienced Principal IT Consultant (m/f/d) with a focus on passive network infrastructure, IT strategy, IT operating models, and infrastructure transformation.

As part of an extensive network transformation program, the existing network infrastructure is to be analyzed and strategically further developed. The goal is to build a modern, platform-based network landscape as the basis for a future Digital Backbone.

The sought-after expert will be responsible in particular for analyzing existing infrastructure structures, developing target states and solution options, and preparing recommendations for action for the modernization and upgrading of the passive network infrastructure.

Tasks / Activities

Conducting structured "as-is" analyses of existing IT and network infrastructures with a focus on passive infrastructure

Developing and documenting functional target states, solution approaches, and implementation concepts

Recording, structuring, and evaluating technical and business requirements

Developing and evaluating strategic action options for the further development of the network infrastructure

Creating and further developing IT strategies, target architectures, and transformation roadmaps

Consulting on the design and implementation of IT operating models with a network focus

Supporting the further development of technology-related product portfolios

Evaluating new technologies and solution variants in terms of economic efficiency, security, and strategic fit

Consulting on IT policies, architectural specifications, and governance requirements

Analyzing existing infrastructure locations and developing recommendations for their upgrading

Identifying and evaluating technical, organizational, and economic risks

Preparing decision bases for management and relevant stakeholders

Knowledge transfer and enabling the internal team for independent continuation of analysis and conception work

Service delivery is generally remote within Germany. Required on-site appointments will preferably take place in Frankfurt am Main; in individual cases, other locations in Germany are also possible.

The project team works agilely in sprints based on Scrum.
