Experienced Kubernetes Platform Engineer needed for the operation, configuration, and optimization of complex Kubernetes platforms, with a strong focus on Longhorn Storage. The role emphasizes deep technical understanding and operational management of an existing enterprise environment, not software development.

Project overview

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Kubernetes Platform Engineer (m/f/d) with a focus on the operation, configuration, and optimization of complex Kubernetes platforms.

The focus is explicitly not on software development or re-engineering, but on a deep technical understanding and operational management of an existing enterprise environment. Expertise in Longhorn Storage, including the analysis, optimization, and traceability of existing implementations, is particularly important.

Responsibilities

Operation and administration of complex Kubernetes clusters
Analysis, optimization, and configuration of existing Longhorn Storage environments
Ensuring stable and performant platform operation
Support with monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance analysis
Management of microservice-based platforms
Collaboration with infrastructure, platform, and operations teams
Operation and monitoring of database services within the Kubernetes landscape

Requirements

Very solid practical experience with Kubernetes (Advanced to Expert Level)
Deep expertise in Longhorn Storage (Expert Level)
Several years of experience in operating productive Kubernetes environments
Very good knowledge of microservices
Very good experience with Prometheus and Grafana
Solid knowledge in operating MySQL and/or MongoDB

Nice to have

We are explicitly looking for an expert who has not only used Longhorn but has technically understood and operated it in detail. Candidates with only basic Longhorn experience are not suitable for this position.
