Lead Enterprise Architect – Multiplatform Architecture

Project overview

For the new build of a company-wide digital platform, we are looking for an experienced Lead Enterprise Architect (m/f/d) to take overall architectural responsibility within a complex transformation program.

The focus is on the conception and implementation of a scalable multiplatform architecture that connects different enterprise applications, data landscapes, and business processes.

The target architecture includes modern integration and orchestration mechanisms, federated data and semantic models, intelligent services, and user-oriented platform capabilities.

Existing operational core systems will continue to retain their functional and transactional responsibilities. The new architecture will also create common, reusable capabilities for cross-system processes and digital applications.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the conception, further development, and consistency of the company-wide platform architecture.
• Development of a scalable target and transformation architecture, including conceptual, logical, and technical architecture models.
• Taking on the architectural design authority within the transformation program.
• Definition of architectural principles, technical standards, integration patterns, and binding design specifications.
• Design of the architecture across multiple levels:
• Experience & Interaction
• Process & Decision Orchestration
• Data & Intelligence Services
• Federated Business Object & Semantic Models
• Event, API & Technical Integration
• Enterprise Systems & Platform Runtime
• Definition of clear boundaries of responsibility between central platform capabilities, business unit applications, and existing core systems.
• Ensuring semantic interoperability across APIs, events, data products, and different application systems.
• Evaluation and selection of suitable technologies, considering scalability, security, resilience, integration capability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Architecture control across various domain architecture teams and external technology partners.
• Ensuring reusable architectural building blocks and integration standards for further use cases.
• Accompanying the technical implementation and transition to sustainable platform operation.

Requirements

Enterprise Architecture | Multiplatform Architecture | Integration & Orchestration

• Many years of experience as a Lead Enterprise Architect, Chief Architect, or Senior Platform Architect in complex transformation programs.
• Demonstrable experience with the architecture of company-wide digital or integration platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of modern multiplatform architectures, distributed systems, and heterogeneous enterprise landscapes.
• Very good knowledge of:
• Enterprise Application Integration
• API Management and API-first Architecture
• Event-driven Architecture and Messaging
• Cross-System Workflow Orchestration
• Federated Data Architecture and Semantic Interoperability
• Cloud and Hybrid Architectures
• Experience with architecture governance, design authorities, and the control of complex technology decisions.
• Sound understanding of security, identity management, observability, resilience, and DevSecOps.
• Ability to translate business requirements into viable architectural decisions and realizable transformation roadmaps.
• Experience in the functional leadership of interdisciplinary architecture teams.
• Very good English skills.

Utilization: 100% (Full-time)

On-site Percentage: approx. 40%
