Responsibilities

What do you bring?

We are looking for an experienced professional who combines technical depth with strategic insight and demonstrable leadership experience.

• Leadership & team development: You lead multidisciplinary teams of infrastructure engineers, cloud specialists, and product owners. You foster ownership, collaboration, and technical development.
• Strategy & roadmap: You develop an integrated vision for hybrid infrastructure and translate it into concrete improvement initiatives, investments, and priorities.
• Platform Engineering: You guide the development towards scalable platform services, with Infrastructure as Code, automation, self-service, and standardization as key principles.
• Cloud & on-premise infrastructure: You monitor the coherence between existing data center technology and Microsoft Azure and ensure a robust, efficient, and future-proof platform landscape.
• Operational excellence: You steer on availability, information security, performance, continuity, and cost-efficiency of business-critical IT services.
• Stakeholder management: You work closely with IT management, architects, product teams, and other internal stakeholders to align technological developments with organizational goals.

Requirements

A strong plus

Experience within transport, logistics, aviation, or organizations with large-scale physical infrastructure is a significant advantage. This means you are familiar with environments where IT systems directly contribute to the continuity of operational processes.

• HBO/WO work and thinking level, preferably with a technical or IT-related background.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
• Solid knowledge of both on-premise infrastructure and cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Demonstrable experience in managing and developing teams consisting of engineers, specialists, and product owners.
• Experience with Platform Engineering, Infrastructure as Code, and automating infrastructure services.
• Ability to translate a technical vision into an executable roadmap, including clear priorities.
• Experience within complex IT landscapes where security, availability, and business continuity are essential.
• Strong communication skills and experience with stakeholders at a tactical and strategic level.
• Good command of the Dutch and English languages.
• Engagement on a self-employed basis, depending on the possibilities and agreements with the client.
• Hourly rate negotiable, depending on experience and expertise.

• An attractive gross monthly salary of € 7,000 to € 9,000.

The Challenge

For a leading Dutch organization with an extensive and business-critical IT environment, we are looking for an experienced Lead IT Infrastructure & Cloud Platforms.

The organization is in the midst of further professionalizing and modernizing its IT infrastructure. The focus is on integrating traditional data center environments and modern cloud technology, increasing automation, and developing future-proof platform services.

In this role, you combine technical leadership, strategic product development, and people management. You will be responsible for multidisciplinary teams of engineers and product owners and will help determine the direction of a hybrid infrastructure landscape.

A challenging position for an experienced IT leader who not only provides direction but also effectively realizes changes.

What will you do?

You are responsible for the further development, management, and professionalization of the infrastructure and cloud platforms. You will operate between strategic decision-making, technical issues, and the development of your teams.
