We are supporting a global consultancy delivering a high-priority programme for a public sector client and are seeking a hands-on technical lead to oversee a small development team, drive delivery and uphold high engineering standards. • Location: Fully remote
• Contract: Inside IR35
• Security: Active SC clearance is mandatory
• Lead and manage a team of 2 to 5 developers, coordinating priorities and ensuring delivery against deadlines.
• Drive software development using Java and Scala, maintaining high standards of code quality and engineering best practice.
• Provide technical leadership across AWS cloud services, CI/CD pipelines and cloud management.
• Oversee API development, microservices and containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to communicate technical solutions and support critical delivery milestones.
• Develop delivery roadmaps, manage competing priorities and ensure appropriate quality standards.
• Mentor developers and support the development of technical skills across the team.
• Mandatory: Proven experience leading and managing a team of 2 to 5 software developers.
• Mandatory: Strong hands-on experience with both Java and Scala.
• Mandatory: Active SC security clearance.
• Strong experience with AWS and cloud-based software development.
• Solid understanding of API development, microservices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and modern software delivery practices.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical teams and senior stakeholders.
• Experience managing delivery priorities, maintaining engineering standards and mentoring developers.
