Linux Administrator

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Linux Administrator for a full-time project lasting 12 months with an option for extension. The position is remote with regular on-site appointments possible.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the administration and further development of enterprise Linux environments. Your activities include the installation and configuration of Linux systems, patch and lifecycle management, as well as troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. You will perform monitoring, logging, and performance optimization, implement Linux security and hardening measures, and automate operational processes. Furthermore, you will create technical operational and infrastructure concepts.

Requirements

You have at least 5 years of experience in an enterprise Linux environment. Very good knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) is required. You have sound experience in Linux administration and system operation, as well as knowledge of patch and lifecycle management. Experience with Ansible for automation is necessary. You are familiar with Linux security and hardening, especially SSH, SELinux, and/or AppArmor. Middleware knowledge as well as basic knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or MariaDB are advantageous.

Experience in creating technical operational and infrastructure concepts completes your profile.

Languages: German and English required.
