As Department Manager Engineering & Construction (E&A) in Hengelo, you ensure that we realize our strategy with the right people in the right place and safely realize the growing workload in the energy transition.

You will work closely with the branch manager, fellow department managers Realization and Work Force Management, and external stakeholders such as municipalities, water boards, and partner contractors to ensure projects run smoothly and innovatively.

This is how you take on the challenge

We are in the midst of the energy transition. The workload we have to manage is growing, and no day is the same. As a department manager, you therefore have many balls to keep in the air. With your adaptability, you lead and direct the development of the department. Together with your team managers, you ensure that the objectives are met. You encourage the department to learn and improve every day, with job satisfaction as an important principle. You also actively seek collaboration across the entire chain, with different departments within Enexis and all involved external parties.

You manage performance and ensure the quality of the work delivered by your department through production management. This is a topic of discussion in the management team of the branch.

Responsibilities

You ensure a qualitative and safe working environment.

You ensure that projects are realized from our internal and external clients.

You are responsible for customer satisfaction of our clients for work on their connection.

You ensure effective collaboration with our chain partners (contractors) and external stakeholders (municipalities and water boards).

You manage the strategic personnel planning and, together with the team managers and support teams, think about themes such as training and guidance.

You are responsible for the development of the team managers within your team.

As a department manager, you easily switch from operational topics to tactical-strategic choices, while staying connected with your colleagues. You provide direction for changes and translate your vision into concrete goals and actions. You feel responsible for the performance & and development of your department and focus on collaboration, safety, and results. From that collaboration, you dare to address and challenge colleagues to achieve better results.

Furthermore, you have:

Academic work and thinking level in a technical direction.

At least 5 years of work experience in a leadership management position. Experience leading leaders is a plus.

Experience in or strong affinity with technology and contracting. Experience with (technical) project management and realizing technical projects is a plus.

As Department Manager E&A, you lead approximately 95 employees, divided into four teams. Together with the team managers, you form the management team within E&A. Within these teams, engineers, engineering staff, supervisors, asset data employees, and a regional account manager work. The atmosphere within the teams is informal and accessible; we prioritize the development and safety of our employees.

The E&A department is part of the Hengelo branch, where approximately 230 employees are active across three departments. Together with the branch manager and the department managers, you form the management team of the branch.
