The work will be carried out under the direction and supervision of a public executive organization, therefore independent deployment is not permitted. Candidates wishing to participate as independent entrepreneurs can only be proposed when they are deployed through an authorized secondment agency or employment contract.

In the context of 'Anders werken' (working differently), work is primarily done from home. MS Teams is used for meetings and digital encounters. When physical presence is required, it will mainly take place at the aforementioned location.

Your role

As a RAD|Mendix Expert Business Engineer, you will contribute to the development of RAD services within Rotterdam. The Product Owner is your main sparring partner, and you will work with knowledge holders from the client. You will work according to agreed (Rotterdam) standards and policies and coordinate activities. You will identify problems and proactively advise on solutions. You will put yourself in the client's shoes and always ask yourself if your solution contributes to their objectives.

Responsibilities

Leveraging your Senior Mendix Expert experience and knowledge of Agile/Scrum, you will contribute to the development of various applications within a cluster Scrum team, supported by an experienced Scrum Master, alongside other experienced Mendix Business Engineers. As you work from the central RAD team, you will also contribute to generic building blocks and the promotion and application of Rotterdam's development conventions.

We are looking for Business Engineers for various RAD projects within our business units (clusters). Within RAD, it is also possible to participate in the Security Champions program. Here you will work together to strengthen the security culture within the RAD organization. This offers the opportunity to deepen your knowledge and actively contribute to security awareness in the teams.

Requirements

You are a RAD|Mendix Expert Business Engineer who thinks in solutions. You possess analytical problem-solving skills. You can actively respond to questions and problems and are customer- and results-oriented. Collegiality and integrity are highly valued by us and also suit you. You are a true team player and want to achieve results together. You have the ability to lead colleagues and bring them to a higher level. Furthermore, you are communicatively skilled in word and writing and have a good command of the Dutch and English languages.

· You have completed at least a higher professional education (HBO);

· You have at least 8 years of work experience as a Mendix Consultant, gained in the last 10 years;

· You possess the following certificates:

o Mendix Expert Developer certificate;

o Professional Scrum Master I certificate;

o Professional Scrum Product Owner I certificate.

Wishes

· You have work experience with a municipality of at least 160,000 inhabitants;

o Mendix Certified Trainer certificate;

o Professional Scrum Master II certificate;

o Professional Scrum Product Owner II certificate;

o Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certificate;

o Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certificate;

· You have work experience with the following technologies:

o REST;

o OData;

o JavaScript;

o (S)CSS/SASS;

o Java;

o SSO;

o DigiD or eHerkenning;

o Mendix Datahub;

o Figma;

The Rotterdam department has the largest ICT department in the municipal sector. Hundreds of colleagues are daily involved in managing, securing, and further developing all ICT services, both within the organization and in the city. We work with the most advanced technologies to make Rotterdam better and more innovative. Since January 2018, we have been working with Rapid Application Development (RAD) on the Mendix platform, where we model processes and create applications together with the business units (clusters) in multiple BizzDevOps teams, supported by a central RAD Expert/Expert team.

As a RAD|Mendix Expert Business Engineer, you will work within the City Management cluster of the municipality. The position is part of the Customer Applications department, the RAD Software Development team of the IIFO directorate (Information, Innovation, Facilities, and Research). Your manager will be the RAD Software Development Team Leader, and you will have daily coordination with the RAD Coordinator.
