For upcoming modernization projects in the mid-sized business sector, we are looking for experienced Azure Cloud Architects (m/f/d) for our expert pool.

A typical project looks like this:

Starting situation

A grown business application (backend services, web portal in Angular, mobile app in Flutter) runs partly on-premise, partly with a hoster. The client works with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID and has set Azure as the target platform. The goal is a secure, scalable, and cost-transparent target architecture on Azure and a step-by-step migration without operational interruption. Ancillary systems such as ERP (e.g., SAP) are connected via defined interfaces.

Job facts: Direct client project

• Record current architecture and non-functional requirements (availability, security, data protection, costs)
• Design target architecture on Azure, including Landing Zone according to Cloud Adoption Framework, Management Groups and Subscriptions, network and identity with Entra ID
• Select runtime platform (e.g., Azure Container Apps or AKS) and data storage (e.g., Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure SQL)
• Create migration and release planning together with the development teams
• Design and set up CI/CD (GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps), Infrastructure as Code (Bicep or Terraform) as well as monitoring and logging with Azure Monitor
• Implement security and compliance requirements (Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, Azure Policy, data residency in the EU)
• Communicate architectural alternatives transparently and represent them in decision-making bodies
• Document architectural decisions and ensure implementation
• at least 5 years of experience as a Cloud or Solution Architect, with at least 3 years with Microsoft Azure in production projects
• Practical experience with Entra ID, Virtual Network and Landing Zones, Container Apps or AKS as well as Azure Database for PostgreSQL or Azure SQL
• Infrastructure as Code with Bicep or Terraform
• Fluent German, good English
• Certification Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
• Migrations from on-premise environments (e.g., with Azure Migrate) and modernization of .NET or Java applications
• Experience with Google Cloud as a second platform
• GDPR-compliant architectures and cost control (FinOps, Azure Cost Management)
• Collaboration with distributed development teams
• Assignment: predominantly remote, occasional on-site appointments in DACH
• Duration: typically 4 to 6 months, extension possible
• Utilization: 80 to 100 percent
