Job description
Naval architect needed for stability and weight management calculations during the basic design phase, including intact and damage stability assessments.
Project overview
+ Performing naval architecture calculations as part of the basic design.
+ Design and evaluation of the ship's hull form considering weight and center of gravity.
+ Performing intact and damage stability calculations.
+ Evaluating stability in accordance with applicable naval construction regulations.
+ Creation and updating of weight budgets.
+ Performing rolling weight calculations during project development. (not mandatory)
+ Coordinating results with the involved design and development departments.
Requirements
+ Completed studies in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, ideally with a focus on naval theory.
+ Sound knowledge of ship stability, hydrostatics, and weight calculation.
+ Practical experience in calculating intact and damage stability.
+ Confident use of NAPA or E4 for naval theory calculations.
+ Knowledge of relevant classification and construction regulations, especially in naval shipbuilding.
