For the House of Representatives, we are looking for an experienced Network Engineer Application Transition. Within the Flexinfra program, in this project-based role, you are responsible for the technical network implementation during the migration of applications to a renewed hybrid cloud platform. You will independently create and execute implementation plans on the existing Cisco Nexus datacenter infrastructure. Furthermore, you will be involved in configuring firewall rules on Cisco Firepower and Checkpoint firewalls, and you will ensure correct routing and segmentation.

• For each application (group), create network implementation plans detailing firewall rules, routing, segmentation, and dependencies.
• Independently execute these plans on the Cisco Nexus datacenter infrastructure.
• Configure firewall rules on Cisco Firepower and Checkpoint firewalls.
• Coordinate with application teams regarding traffic flows, port numbers, and dependencies before each migration.
• Document changes and deliver according to the organization's change processes.
• Identify risks and deviations to the network architect and contribute to solution directions.
• Troubleshoot network problems during and after migrations.
• Coordinate with adjacent projects within the FlexInfra program.
• You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience as a network engineer in an enterprise or government environment.
• You have demonstrable experience with Cisco Nexus datacenter environments (NX-OS, vPC, VXLAN).
• You have demonstrable experience with Cisco Firepower and Checkpoint firewalls, both with rule management and troubleshooting.
• You have experience in independently creating and executing network implementation plans in a complex enterprise environment.
• You have experience working in a program structure where you coordinate with multiple parallel projects.
• You have experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• You have recent hands-on experience with Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure).
• You have experience with hybrid cloud architectures, preferably Azure and Azure Local, including hub-spoke and landing zone concepts.
• You have experience working in a SAFe environment.
• You have knowledge of network segmentation and Zero Trust principles.
• You have experience with migration or transition projects where service continuity is paramount.
• You have experience within the public sector or central government.
• You have a Cisco certification (CCNP or higher) and/or a Checkpoint certification.
• Independent: takes on work without needing every step to be approved.
• Accurate: errors in firewall rules or routing have a direct impact on the availability of parliamentary processes.
• Communicative: easily switches between engineers, architects, application managers, and project leaders.
• Proactive: does not wait for a problem to arise but identifies it in advance.
• Stress-resistant: migration weekends and tight deadlines are not uncommon.
• Strong analytical skills: You understand complex technical issues and provide clear solutions.
