Network Engineer | Enterprise Networks, Security & Automation

Responsibilities

• Conception of high-performance enterprise networks considering availability, scalability, and security
• Design, setup, and operation of complex LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN infrastructures
• Configuration and optimization of routing and switching components in demanding network environments
• Operation and further development of central network services regarding performance, stability, and fault tolerance
• Implementation of technical security measures using firewalls, VLANs, segmentation, and access controls
• Analysis and resolution of complex network disruptions, connection problems, and performance limitations
• Participation in network migrations, technical rollouts, and cross-functional IT infrastructure projects
• Implementation and further development of suitable network monitoring, logging, and error analysis solutions
• Automation of recurring network tasks with Python, Ansible, or Terraform
• Support for patch, release, and lifecycle management of deployed network components
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, operating manuals, and current network plans
• Collaboration with IT Security, Server, Cloud, and Platform teams on integrated infrastructure solutions

Requirements

• Core competence in network engineering or administration of complex enterprise networks
• Completed degree in IT or telecommunications engineering or a comparable qualification
• Several years of expertise in the conception, implementation, operation, and optimization of demanding network infrastructures
• Profound knowledge of routing, switching, TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, and VPN
• Demonstrable experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and firewall environments
• Comprehensive knowledge of network security, network segmentation, firewalling, and technical access control
• Experience with network monitoring, logging, systematic error analysis, and sustainable troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Python, Ansible, or Terraform for automating recurring network tasks
• Profound understanding of highly available, secure, and scalable network architectures
• Technically structured and analytical approach in complex infrastructure and operating environments
• German citizenship and willingness to undergo security screening for VS-NfD (Information Classified for Official Use)
• Fluent German (spoken and written) and good English skills
