Open Source GIS Web Developer Engineer

Project overview

Context

As part of the development of its activities in geomatics and geographic information systems, our client is looking for an Open Source GIS Web Developer Engineer to strengthen its Parisian team.

You will be involved in a structuring project for a major player in the energy transition: design, evolution, and maintenance of a GIS platform dedicated to the management and exploitation of geographic data and energy assets. Within a team of GIS experts, you will participate in the design of a modern mapping web solution, based on open-source technologies.

Missions

Possible involvement in the GeoNode / GeoOrchestra ecosystem and other Open Source GIS components.

Technical Environment

GeoServer, MapStore, GeoNode / GeoOrchestra, PostgreSQL / PostGIS, Python, JavaScript / web development, OGC standards (WMS, WFS, WCS), Open Source GIS ecosystem.

Practical Information

• Design and develop GIS web applications and services
• Evolve and customize mapping interfaces and business functionalities
• Implement and evolve OGC geographic services (WMS, WFS, WCS…)
• Configure, administer, and optimize GeoServer
• Develop and integrate functionalities in MapStore
• Manage and exploit geographic data in PostgreSQL / PostGIS environments
• Develop scripts and tools for automating GIS processing (Python)
• Implement processing to improve data quality, reliability, and performance
• Analyze and resolve technical issues related to data, geographic services, and GIS architecture
• Participate in the industrialization and continuous improvement of the platform
• Contribute to the design, development, integration, and maintenance phases
• Location: Paris

• Duration: 1 year renewable
• Daily Rate: depending on profile
