Context of the mission

The objective of the mission is to bring senior expertise on OpenStack technologies to define, carry out, and ensure the execution of the technical roadmap for FDJ United's OpenStack platforms.

The contractor will act as the technical referent for the platform and will work closely with the Product Owner to secure technological directions, prepare platform evolutions, and support their implementation.

Beyond the operational Build and Run activities, the mission aims to strengthen the team's technical maturity, disseminate best practices, and ensure the consistency of architectural choices across the entire OpenStack scope.

Objectives and deliverables

Responsibilities

Define and maintain the technical roadmap for OpenStack platforms.

Support the Product Owner in technical trade-offs and decisions.

Act as the technical referent for the platform with internal teams and projects.

Design architectural evolutions and secure their implementation.

Lead technical reviews and guide teams in implementing chosen solutions.

Support the resolution of complex incidents and recurring problems.

Contribute to Build activities (projects, new features, automation, integration).

Contribute to Run activities (incident management, problem management, change management, capacity planning, patch management).

Participate in team upskilling through mentoring, knowledge transfer, and best practice sharing.

Ensure technological watch and propose evolutions to improve platform performance, resilience, security, and operability.

Expected deliverables:

Updated OpenStack technical roadmap shared with stakeholders.

Architecture documents and scoping notes for major evolutions.

Minutes and recommendations from technical reviews.

Documentation of platform evolutions and new releases.

Documentation of standards, best practices, and operational procedures.

Skills transfer plans and associated materials.

Completion and updating of tickets and requests handled within Build and Run activities.

Acceptance and reception records for major changes made to the platforms when necessary.

Systematic referencing of documentation, sources, and technical knowledge in the team repository.

Profile sought

Confirmed expertise in OpenStack in a critical production environment.

Significant experience in a Tech Lead, Architect, or Cloud Platform Expert role.

Solid skills in Linux, automation, and Infrastructure as Code.

Ability to define a technical trajectory and support its implementation.

Ability to upskill a team and simplify complex topics.

High autonomy, analytical skills, and ability to interact with technical and business stakeholders.

Additional information:

On-site presence in Vitrolles: 2 days per week minimum.

Participation in the team's on-call duty.

Occasional interventions outside of normal working hours (HNO) for operations requiring service interruption or posing a risk to production.

The contractor is not expected to be a simple Build/Run contributor. They must hold the role of OpenStack technical referent, capable of defining the platform's technological directions, guiding teams in their implementation, and supporting the Product Owner in structuring decisions. Strong technical leadership, knowledge transfer, and influencing skills are essential.
